Jimmy Taenaka is a familiar face on television and film both in Singapore and in the US. His film credits include movies like American Yakuza, Robocop 3, The Shadow, Showdown in Little Tokyo and the most recent, Tequila. He also guest starred in numerous television series by CBS such as Martial Law, Brooklyn South and J.A.G.

In Singapore, he starred in the epic World War II serial drama, A War Diary, where he also received a nomination at the Asian Television Awards 2002 for Best Actor in a Drama. He also starred in Making Love, the love anthology series Love Matters, One Peep Too Many, where he played the main lead Joe, an ex-cop turned private investigator, Amnesia, a supernatural thriller and most recently opposite Flora Chan in Like My Own. He also recently completed shooting for a French Television Series, “L’Empire Du Tigre” in Cambodia.

Jimmy first started out in theatre, training with renowned acting coach Sal Romeo of Friends and Artists Ensemble and Robert Carnegie of Playhouse West. He continues to be involved in theatre; acting in plays produced by distinguished theatre companies around America. He was in Salad Bowl Dance at the Stella Adler Theatre in Los Angeles, and Fall Off Night by The Los Angeles Playhouse and the critically acclaimed Our Hearts Were Touched With Fire by Japan America Theatre.

Jimmy T was last seen on Ch5’s First Mums, playing opposite Kim Ng as her husband.
